Overcome Your Fears! ++++++++++++++++++ I sought the LORD, and he heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were lightened: And their faces were not ashamed. Psalm 34:4-5 KJV Fear is an emotional and physiological response to a perceived threat or danger. It is a natural human emotion that can vary in intensity and can be triggered by various factors, including real or imagined threats, traumatic experiences, or uncertainty about the future. Fear can manifest in different ways, such as feelings of anxiety, unease, or apprehension, and it often includes physiological reactions like increased heart rate, sweating, and heightened alertness. Hormones are involved in bringing on the feeling of fear. Note threats could be real or imagined! Every one of us has to deal with some fear at one time or the other in life. Who do you reach out to when fear begins to grip you? Yes, we all need friends and family; people around us to help us through the tough seasons of life. But are these people always reliable? Are they always capable of resolving our fears? King David discovered the most reliable entity to depend on in such times. ( He experienced horrific seasons of fear when his life was threatened by powerful enemies for years). David is a credible witness and we can believe his testimony. He says he sought the LORD, and He delivered him from ALL his fears. God was His first line of dependence. We can also make God our preferred partner to help us rid ourselves of fears. The All-powerful God actually desires and is poised to free you from ALL your fears. These fears interfere with His amazing plans for your life. So He is ready even this morning. Jesus is the Prince of Peace and He assures us that He will bless us with His "kind of peace" that surpasses "all understanding". (Philippians 4:6-7) Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. May you confront every lingering fear and present it to the LORD.
