Provisions For Trials
Provisions For Trials +++++++++++++++ There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV What a relief; How comforting to know that there are strict provisions that govern our tests, trials, and temptations. It's not given unto the enemy to have a field day with our lives. God demonstrates His love even in this arena with some powerful provisions. Paul assures us first of all that whatever temptation or trial we go through is common to man. In other words, you are not the first and you won't be the last to be tempted that way. Keeping this in mind can be comforting. Group punishments in primary school were more tolerant. You could even laugh at someone in the group. When you were alone, then it felt really bad. Next, God regulates how much of what the enemy can administer in a temptation. The enemy is not in control. God is in control. So your temptation is never beyond your ability to overcome or endure. God knows us intimately. As a child of God, when its in your path, it means you can. You are well-able. God provides a way of escape out of the snare of the fowler. But you must seek this way out in humble submission to God, not with murmurings and complainings. At other times, there is the divine enablement to bear it. God also tests our faith when we are due for promotion. When God knows we are ready He throws in a test that we pass and then promotion comes. When Abraham passed his test God blessed him. (Gen 22:16b-17a) for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son; that in blessing I will bless thee. Perhaps, you are questioning the value of all of this. Why does God allow temptations? Paul says; (Romans 5:3) And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; God has extreme value for the fruit of patience that is birthed in us as a result of our temptations. James puts it this way: (James 1:4) But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. God's will for us is perfection.
