Clothed With Strength And Honour ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. Proverbs 31:25-26 KJV Today is a very special day globally, for all women but especially mothers. It's Mother's Day. It's a day set apart to honour the women who raised us. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! to all you mothers out there especially, you who read this devotional and share it with many, particularly, the children whom you are raising. God bless all your efforts to teach God's Word and His ways to them. Our focus verse today is drawn from Proverbs 31 which is a famous depiction of a wonderful Womanhood. In the opening verse of the chapter ; "(Proverbs 31:1) The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him" we are told that "king Lemuel" was taught these words by his mother. Scholars believe that Bathsheba's pet name for her son King Solomon is "king Lemuel" and as such she is the source of this striking image of a virtuous woman. Bathsheba in spite of her imperfections, taught her son, the Prince, the WORD of the LORD. It is her tutelage that ultimately empowers King Solomon to make the wise choice that results in the great blessings of God for His people. 2 Ch 1:10-11 paraphrased "Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?" therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, riches, and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have." This should be a source of great encouragement to all mothers today. In spite of your imperfections, you can teach your sons and daughters the WORD of the LORD. May "Strength and Honour" cloth you as you labour on in your assignment of raising godly children for the LORD. Remember that the seed of God's Word sown in your children will never be lost.
